Positive Ion Starch Producing Technology

Corn food gradually got a good reputation due to its anti-cancer advantage and rich in micro elements.Deep corn processing machinery can produce varieties of corn products. Following is introduction of positive ion starch technology.

① To take wet milling as an example, positive ion starch is processed as follows.

It is reacted in alkaline condition with water added to some inorganic salt to prevent starch from swelling. For example, gasification sodium or sodium sulfate anti-swelling agent 10-20; common slurry concentration35-40;temperature 40-55; medium 11-11.5; reaction time 4-24min.After reaction, hydrochloric acid is used to neutralize to PH 9.4-5. Then the starch is centrifuged, washed and dried.

② Reaction is affected by molar ratio of alkali and etherifying agent, temperature, duration, concentration.

a.When molar ratio of alkali and etherifying agent reaches 2.8, reaction efficiency becomes the highest which may result from too high alkali concentration leading to loss of activity of etherifying agent.
 
b.Usually, reaction efficiency is in direct proportion to gelatinization temperature and period. 
 
c.liquid concentration obviously affects reaction efficiency, which may results from decrease of alkali and ether agent concentration. In industrial manufacture, liquid concentration is usually controlled within 35-40.
